Produce Fresh from the Field

One of the best things about Stanleys is that you can come and pick your own fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the fields. From strawberries in summer to sprouts in winter, you will find that there is always something ready for you to pick.

Check for updates about what is available each season below as well as checking out our FAQ at the bottom of the page for answers to any questions you may have.

We are currently in the summer season with a great range of berries and vegetables to pick (see ‘Ready to Pick’ for full list).

FAQ

As only a few of the PYO crops are covered we recommend that you bring appropriate clothing and footwear depending on the weather. When it is raining, we recommend bringing wellington boots and rain coats (not umbrellas) including a change of shoes if necessary. During hot weather we recommend bringing sun hats and sun cream (we do not sell suncream) as there is no cover in the fields, we also recommend that you bring plenty of water as well

Yes, you can bring your own containers, but you can also buy containers from the store if you do not have your own. If you are bringing your own container please bring it to the till upon arrival so it can be weighed, the weight of your container can then be subtracted from the weight of your fruit/veg when paying. If you are picking soft fruit we do not recommend the use of bags or very large containers as fruit at the bottom will often get crushed.

No, there is no entrance fee, you only pay for what you pick based off of weight or individual item.

Not really. Whilst the shop, picnic area and marked paths are asscessible the fields are uneaven and muddy in wet weather.

No. Dogs are welcome to stay in the carpark and picnic area but are not allowed in the store or the field (with the exception of assistance dogs).

No, most of the crops can be picked by hand. If tools are required they can either be found in the field or you can ask for them in the store.

Yes, we have a carpark.

There is no exact best time to come picking but we recommend early morning on a weekday when it is quieter as well as being before the weekend rush.

The fields are currently open between 10:00 and 16:00, Tuesday to Saturday and 10:00 to 12:45 on Sunday.
